Maintenance Worker

Responsibilities

Routine Maintenance:

  • Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify maintenance and repair needs.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work such as drywall and painting.
  • Maintain and repair building systems, such as heating and cooling systems, plumbing, and electrical.

Repairs and Troubleshooting:

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and address issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to appliances, fixtures, and common areas.
  • Ensure that all repairs meet safety and building code standards.

Project Organization:

  • Plan and schedule maintenance and repair projects, coordinating with contractors, vendors, and team members.
  • Procure necessary materials, tools, and equipment for maintenance tasks and projects.
  • Maintain a well-organized inventory of supplies and equipment.

Safety and Security:

  • Maintain a safe and hazard-free environment within the properties.
  • Implement and follow safety protocols and procedures.
  • Act as a point of contact for emergency repairs and maintenance issues outside of regular working hours.

Communication:

  • Effectively communicate with residents, property managers, and team members to ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Provide regular updates on the status of maintenance tasks and projects.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and expenses.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be a jack of all trades.
  • Previous experience in property maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
  • Knowledge of safety and security protocols.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
